Two of the four juveniles involved in the murder have informed of police of who the shooter is. Since the juveniles will not be charged as adults, they do not have a reason to testify against each other and they will not take the stand. The Juvenile D.A. Matthew Golde said this is a proof vs truth case and they will not be filing at this time. Golde also informed me that this same group have committed several other shootings/homicides/car-jackings around the East Bay. Golde said the footage that FPD has is not enough to ID the suspects, so the investigation with the prosecution has stalled. FPD feel they have enough evidence to charge. Despite numerous requests, I have still to this date been able to have a meeting with D.A. Pamela Price and the FPD. FPD has been cooperative their hands are tied based off of the lack of acknowledgment from D.A. Price. Isaiah’s killer is still free and most likely continuing to bring terror and mayhem to wherever he’s present. If he is not locked up, he is going to victimize someone else. When Isaiah was murdered, the intersection was packed with people. I know there's someone out there that could identify the shooter if in a lineup. I know the witness/es will not be able to get this horrific event out of their minds. I know as a mother; I will never forget the image of my baby lying dead in the street. I will never forget the feeling of wanting to hold him, so he wasn't alone or at least cover him because he looked cold laying on the asphalt. Isaiah needs a witness. Cowardice is worse than violence. To ignore violence is to become accomplice to it. Maybe you thought this case would have been easily solved because of all the cameras at the intersection, but it's not. This could have been your child, and it probably will be with the shooter still free. He knows now that he could commit a murder in Fremont and get away with it. Imagine your silence leading to your child's death. Imagine your silence leading up to your child suffering from the result of multiple gunshot wounds. I hate to be so graphic, but unfortunately, it's inevitable for the shooter to strike again in violence knowing no one will speak up. As a mother, I beg you to speak up for my baby who cannot speak. As a victim, I warn you of the terror this murderer is still able to bring forth in the future if left on these streets.
The city of Fremont was voted the happiest city in the United States. It is also the 17th safest city in the United States. I was raised in Fremont, attending Holy Spirit Catholic School and Washington High School. I used to have such fond memories of the city of Fremont. That was until the love of my life, my only son, was murdered and has yet to receive justice. Now, I don't live in Fremont, and every time I come to Fremont, I fear for my safety and my remaining child's safety, who is now an only child due to this malicious act. I get sick to my stomach the second I get off the freeway coming into Fremont. I'm sure my daughter feels the same way, considering she was at the McDonald's only a few feet away when her brother's car was stalled at the intersection while he suffered from multiple gunshot wounds and ran up to his vehicle to see his lifeless bullet ridden body. Isaiah's murderer, that is still amongst us, knows now that he can commit murder and no one's going to speak up. He will strike again. As a Fremont community, are you ready to take that big of a risk? There are certain events in life that define you as a person. Events that show your true character. Events that test your moral courage, to be honest in thought, word and deed. Events that test your integrity. This is one of those events that not only affects you but affects Fremont as a community.
